About Skokie Lagoons

Skokie Lagoons is an 894-acre nature preserve in Glencoe featuring water exploration, trails, and outdoor recreation. Visitors can access the lagoons by boat at the Tower Road Boat Launch, or rent canoes and kayaks at Tower Road. The preserve includes multiple locations: Erickson Woods, Tower Road, and Forest Way Grove, each with parking and portable bathrooms. Hiking and biking trails wind through the area, with cross-country skiing available in winter. Fishing opportunities draw anglers to the lagoons. Erickson Woods includes a birding hotspot and picnic groves, with Grove #1 featuring a shelter for groups up to 200 people. Dogs are permitted on-leash throughout the preserve. The location suits outdoor enthusiasts seeking water activities, trail exploration, wildlife observation, and picnicking in a natural setting.
