About Pinal Gem & Mineral Society
The Pinal Gem and Mineral Society operates the Pinal Geology Museum in Coolidge, where visitors explore curated mineral and gemstone displays alongside paleontology exhibits featuring Allosaurus and Dilophosaurus models. The museum showcases minerals from the Wicklund collection and features updated displays with new material added over time. Society members, drawn from Coolidge, Florence, and surrounding Pinal County areas as well as part-time Arizona residents and members worldwide, gather monthly for meetings and presentations at the museum. The organization began in 2015 with assistance from the Flagg Mineral Foundation and has expanded to offer weekly museum hours and activities designed for children. The society welcomes anyone interested in gems, minerals, and geology, from casual enthusiasts to serious collectors. The Pinal Gem and Mineral Society is a member of the Rocky Mountain Federation of Mineralogical Societies and Pinal County Museums.
