About San Tan Historical Society
The San Tan Historical Society Museum preserves and shares the history of Chandler Heights, Combs, Higley, and Queen Creek. Visitors explore exhibits that answer questions about how local roads received their names, identify historical figures like the man on the mountain, and learn about connections to Frank Lloyd Wright and the Queen Creek Potato Company founded in 1932. The museum displays artifacts and information about early schools in the area, including Rittenhouse Elementary School, and explains how German POWs contributed to the community. Guests can browse the gift shop and speak with volunteers during visits. The museum, located on the southeast corner of Queen Creek and Ellsworth Roads, opens to the public on Saturdays. Tours are available by request for groups or individuals wanting deeper exploration of the region's heritage. Eagle Scout projects are also accommodated at the venue.
