About Pin Point Heritage Museum

Pin Point Heritage Museum is housed in the former A.S. Varn & Son Oyster and Crab Factory near Moon River Marsh, east of Savannah. Visitors explore exhibits and take guided tours focused on the Gullah-Geechee culture and history of Pin Point, a community founded by formerly enslaved African Americans and their descendants in the 1890s. The museum's displays examine religion, language, and food traditions through artifacts and photographs. Tours feature the stories of residents who grew up in this close-knit coastal Georgia community, offering insight into daily life, family structures, and cultural practices. Guided tours run at scheduled times throughout operating days Thursday through Saturday. Admission is charged, with separate pricing for adults and children ages three through twelve. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
