The Perrin Air Force Base Historical Museum in Denison preserves the history of Perrin Field and Perrin Air Force Base, which operated from 1941 to 1971 and trained tens of thousands of U.S. and Allied pilots and crews. Visitors explore thousands of military artifacts and displays spanning from the Revolutionary War through the Global War on Terrorism. The museum offers both guided tours with knowledgeable docents and self-guided browsing. Kiosks with closed captioning and Spanish-language videos are available at various displays. An extensive library holds military-related books, manuals, and periodicals available for visitor use. The library also serves as a meeting facility for groups of up to thirty people. Field trip opportunities accommodate schools, institutions, assisted living facilities, and organizations. The museum welcomes volunteers, particularly veterans and military history enthusiasts.
