New Hope Valley Railway, known as the Triangle's Train, operates diesel-powered excursions along four miles of historic track through piney woods and over a trestle on hour-long round trips from Bonsal to New Hill. Visitors board open-sided excursion cars with bench seating and ride through the route while food and drinks are available for purchase on some days. The North Carolina Railway Museum grounds feature the Goldston Depot, USOX 8707 exhibit car now housing a gift shop, and Caboose #335, built in 1913, which hosts birthday parties and small gatherings. A Garden Scale model railroad operates while guests wait to board. The railway hosts seasonal events including S'mores and Suds and the Brew 'n' Choo series. Operate-a-Loco sessions allow participants to take locomotive controls. Located 30 minutes southwest of Raleigh in New Hill, the railway charges admission with prices published online. Children under 2 ride free with an adult ticket, according to the venue's website.
