About The Makery at Boxyard RTP

The Makery at Boxyard RTP is a creative makerspace in Durham where visitors ages six and up explore tools, materials, and ideas in a collaborative environment. Three admission options accommodate different interests. Maker's Choice allows visitors to create freely using recycled materials, art supplies, tools, and making machines with staff support. Maker's Project offers prepared kits on themed topics that visitors complete during their session and take home. Maker's Workshop provides instructor-led skill-based sessions led by Makery staff or community artists focused on specific making techniques. The space welcomes independent teenagers aged fourteen and older with a waiver, while younger children must be accompanied by an adult. The facility operates Tuesday through Saturday with two daily sessions. Located within the Boxyard shipping container complex at Park Offices Drive in Durham, North Carolina, The Makery serves upper-elementary students, tweens, teens, and adults seeking hands-on creative experiences.
