The Museum of Sierra Ski History preserves and shares the region's rich skiing and snowsports heritage through displays and virtual resources. Located at the Boatworks Mall in Tahoe City, the museum features the Batiste Family Collection, one of the largest private regional snowsports collections, along with rare artifacts and photographs contributed by the Lake Tahoe Ski Club, Auburn Ski Club, and private collectors. Visitors explore virtual history videos covering topics including ancient skiing, Sondre Norheim and the father of modern skiing, snowshoe Thompson, women of the 1800s skiing in the Sierras, early California winter sports and Truckee, developing ski areas at Donner Summit, and early Olympic Valley. The museum also draws on materials from regional authors and historians to tell the story of Sierra skiing. Founded in 2011 by Stan and Maryann Batiste and David C. Antonucci, the museum serves school groups, scouts, and general visitors interested in learning about local winter sports history and the 1960 Olympics.
We check this attraction’s own website for offers. The last time we read sierraskimuseum.com, on , there was no offer on it that we could verify.
The page stays here because the attraction is still worth knowing about, and because we keep checking. If a deal appears on their site, it appears here.
