About Museum of Riverside

The Museum of Riverside preserves and shares the cultural and natural heritage of Riverside and the surrounding region through exhibitions and programs. The museum is currently undergoing rehabilitation and expansion at its main downtown location on Mission Inn Avenue, with reopening anticipated in 2028. While the main site is being transformed, the museum offers tours of Heritage House, a Victorian home with gardens located on Magnolia Avenue. Heritage House tours are available Fridays through Sundays with multiple time slots throughout the afternoon. The museum also presents educational events and programs throughout the city in collaboration with community partners. The Museum of Riverside operates as a department of the City and stewards three historic sites, including the National Historic Landmark Harada House. The museum achieved national accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums, recognition held by only about three percent of U.S. museums. Curators, educators, and cultural specialists deliver programs focused on Riverside's stories, past and present.
