About Miamisburg Historical Society

The Miamisburg Historical Society operates the History Center, where visitors explore thousands of archives and artifacts documenting local heritage. Located at Veterans Memorial Park in Miamisburg, the fully accessible facility occupies a former library branch renovated in 2019. The History Center displays collections related to the area's rich past, from the ancient Adena people who built earthworks in the region to the Miami Indians and early settlers. Visitors can examine documents and objects spanning centuries of local history throughout the Miami Valley. The society also maintains Heritage Village, which features historic structures including the Gebhart Tavern, a restored period building that represents early settlement architecture. General admission is free. The History Center opens Wednesdays and Saturdays, plus the first Thursday of each month, with visits by appointment also available. The society's public board meetings occur monthly.
