About Marietta History Center

The Marietta History Center preserves and presents the history of Marietta through galleries, exhibits, and collections housed in the historic Kennesaw House, a brick building constructed around 1845 located near the railroad tracks in downtown Marietta. Visitors explore the second-floor galleries and exhibits that tell compelling stories about the region's past. The center maintains a collection of over 50,000 artifacts and has welcomed more than 300,000 visitors since opening in 1996. The building itself serves as a landmark, with the first floor containing a museum store and rental space, while climate-controlled collections storage occupies the third floor. A visit suits anyone interested in learning about local history through engaging experiences and authentic artifacts. The center is located in Marietta, Georgia, with public parking available across the railroad tracks on Mill Street.
