Loveland Community House in Dixon features museum exhibits alongside event spaces available for rental. Visitors explore displays including a full-length portrait of John Dixon, the town's founder, original chemistry equipment from Charles Walgreens' first drug store, Civil War weapons and artifacts, and rotating art exhibits. The building itself showcases the architectural details of its classic rooms, including a Ladies Lounge and Mens Lounge with vaulted ceilings. The Dining Hall seats up to 200 people and includes a raised stage, dance floor, and space for live music or a DJ. The community house was established by Mr. and Mrs. George C. Loveland to provide a gathering place for Dixon residents and to honor the Loveland family's 175-year history in the area. The museum preserves local history and heritage through its curated collections and exhibits. Active-duty military personnel and their families receive free admission as part of the Blue Star Museums program.
