The Longview Museum of Fine Arts houses nearly 1,200 works of art in its downtown galleries, including paintings, woodcuts, photographs, sculpture, lithographs, serigraphs, collages, and works on paper. The collection centers on early Texas regional art from the 1930s through 1970s. Each year the museum presents exhibitions featuring Texas-based artists, emerging contemporary artists from across the United States, and internationally established artists. Current exhibitions include "Conversations Through Collage" by Brenda Bogart and "Cosmic Comix" by Lee Baxter Davis, with an upcoming show called "Waltz Across Texas" exploring historic Texas dance halls. The museum hosts LMFA Live concerts featuring musicians like Hollis Brown and Paul Thorn, special events such as Masterpieces & Martinis, and artist brunches. Guided and self-guided exhibition tours are available. General admission is free.
