About Commemorative Air Force Lone Star Wing

The Commemorative Air Force Lone Star Wing is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and teaching World War II history through aircraft restoration, educational programs, museum exhibits, and airshows. Visitors can experience flights in the PT-17, a vintage aircraft also known as ship number 23, which operates from the organization's home base at Harrison County Airport in Marshall. The Lone Star Wing offers rides at events across East Texas and whenever pilots are available. The organization meets on the third Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. at the hangar located in the northern hangar complex at Harrison County Airport, with visitors welcome to attend these gatherings. The hangar, marked with a "Lone Star Wing CAF" sign, serves as headquarters for this chapter of the larger Commemorative Air Force, which maintains a fleet of more than 175 military aircraft from conflicts since World War II. Ride tickets are sold online through the organization's website.
