Jefferson Candlelight Tour of Homes is a holiday event where visitors tour elaborately decorated historic properties throughout Historic Jefferson, Texas. Guests walk through featured homes at their own pace across multiple event dates, exploring residences such as the Dotson-King House, a three-room structure built in the 1860s with later expansions, and the Beard House, a Greek Revival home constructed around 1860. The Dotson-King House reflects Jefferson's local history through original features and artifacts preserved across generations of ownership. Visitors also discover special seasonal attractions and experiences throughout town during their visit. The event draws visitors from across East Texas and beyond, including from Shreveport, Texarkana, Longview, Marshall, Tyler, and the Dallas-Fort Worth area. A day trip or weekend getaway works equally well for experiencing this Christmas tradition. Candlelight Headquarters operates at Port Jefferson Outpost in downtown Jefferson, where visitors exchange their tickets for access to the tour homes.
