Lily's Pad is a hyperclean indoor playground in Tempe designed specifically for immunocompromised children and their siblings to play safely. Visitors engage in typical childhood activities within a facility that maintains hospital-clinic-level cleanliness standards. The play space features custom-designed HVAC systems with HEPA filters, humidity control, air scrubbers, and air quality monitoring to minimize germs and bacteria. All building materials, from paint to furniture to flooring, were approved by Dr. Debra Harris of Baylor University for their safety in health design. Play sessions operate by reservation only with limited numbers of children and caregivers to prevent crowds. Before entry, all visitors must be symptom-free and pass a temperature check, then exchange shoes for provided socks. The facility serves children with childhood cancer, transplants, autoimmune conditions, kidney disease, congenital heart defects, blood disorders, and neuromuscular disorders. Cleaning occurs between every play session.
