The Lady Lake Historical Society and Museum occupies the former Lady Lake Train Station, built in 1883 to ship lumber, turpentine, citrus and watermelons to distant markets. Visitors tour the restored depot, painted in Atlantic Coast Line colors, and learn how trains operated from 1884 to 1967 along the Florida Central and Atlantic Coast Line routes. The museum tells the story of how the station was relocated twice before reaching its current home in Lady Lake. The facility preserves local history through exhibits centered on the town's railroad heritage and early commerce. The museum opens on Tuesdays and Saturdays during published hours. A visit suits anyone interested in Florida's transportation history, local heritage and the role railroads played in developing small communities. The Lady Lake Historical Society welcomes volunteers and relies on community support to maintain the restored station and its collections.
Hours: Tuesdays and Saturdays 10am to 1pm
