Irons Oaks Environmental Learning Center is a thirty-eight acre nature preserve in Olympia Fields featuring woods, wildflowers, birds and wildlife along public trails open dawn to dusk. The preserve offers an Adventure Center with a climbing tower, crate climbing, high ropes course and power pole for visitors seeking physical challenges. Educational programs serve teachers, scout groups and youth organizations through guided nature field trips and scout outings. The facility hosts nature programs and camps for various ages, preschool programs, and team-building activities designed to improve communication and group coordination. Visitors can explore the grounds on foot using marked trail maps or participate in seasonal activities like skiing and snowshoeing.
