About Hapeville Depot Museum and Visitor Center
The Hapeville Depot Museum and Visitor Center occupies an 1890 train depot, one of Georgia's oldest remaining stations, restored to its original appearance while housing a robust interior museum. Visitors explore exhibits interpreting aviation, railroad, and automobile history alongside early Georgia history through the lens of Hapeville's industrial past. The building stands within the Hapeville Historic District, a recognized site on the National Register of Historic Places. The museum offers hourly and self-guided tours Wednesday through Saturday. Special exhibits and events occur throughout the year, featuring art installations and panel discussions with diverse community voices. Guests can examine artifacts and displays documenting the region's transportation heritage and industrial development. Free admission welcomes all visitors, and free parking is available on either side of the museum, making it an accessible educational center for exploring local history.
