About Deer Haven Park

Deer Haven Park offers nature observation and outdoor recreation across 122 acres. Visitors hike and jog through trails winding through forest, meadow, wetland and pond habitats, with connections to adjacent Havener Park providing about three miles of connected pathways. The park centers on the Amy Clark-Bader Bird Sanctuary, where bird feeders, nesting boxes and a tree swallow grid attract resident and migrating species. An aviary houses birds of prey permanently injured in the wild, managed through a partnership with Ohio Nature Education, allowing close viewing during park hours. The visitor center features viewing windows for indoor bird watching and houses a nature library, classroom and natural play area. Additional attractions include a pollinator garden and insect hotel demonstrating wildlife dependencies. The park supports geocaching, cross-country skiing and wildlife viewing from designated blinds. Visitors explore a woodland wetland boardwalk and access interpretive signage throughout the grounds.
