Compass Inn Museum is a restored historic inn in Laughlintown where visitors take docent-led tours of the main house and its outbuildings. Tours last about 50 minutes and include the reconstructed cookhouse, barn, carpenter shop, and blacksmith shop. The museum is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was opened in 1972 after restoration by the Ligonier Valley Historical Society. Walk-in visitors are welcome during regular operating hours, and group tours can be scheduled in advance. The museum also hosts special events and programs throughout the year, including candlelight tours in the fall and winter months, the Stagecoach Adventurers Summer Day Camp for children, and seasonal activities like pumpkin carving contests and storytelling events. A visit suits families and history enthusiasts interested in rural Pennsylvania heritage and 19th-century craftsmanship. The location is in Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands Region, approximately three miles east of Ligonier on Route 30.
