The California International Airshow, Salinas takes place at Salinas Municipal Airport, where visitors watch aerial demonstrations and explore aviation exhibits across two days. Flying performances begin at approximately 11:00 AM, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds along with additional performers including Mark Peterson flying an A-37 Dragonfly, Jason Somes in a MiG-17, Greg Colyer piloting a T-33 Shooting Star, and Goulian Aerosports. The airshow grounds include educational and entertaining exhibits, hands-on aviation and STEM displays, and numerous vendor booths. A Kids' Zone accommodates visitors of all ages with age-appropriate activities. Gates open at 9:00 AM and close at 5:00 PM, allowing families to spend the day exploring. Children five and under receive free admission, as do active military members with valid identification. The California International Airshow is a nonprofit organization that has supported local charitable causes since 1981.
