About Sanctuary Cruises

Sanctuary Cruises operates whale-watching trips from Moss Landing aboard three vessels: the Sanctuary, a 43-foot boat with heated cabin accommodating up to 28 passengers; the Ocean Spirit, a fast six-guest RHIB; and the Meridian, a 50-foot private yacht. Every cruise carries a working marine biologist as guide. Visitors encounter humpback whales, dolphins, orcas, sea lions, sea otters, seals, and seabirds throughout Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Trips range from two-and-a-half hours to nine hours, with options including sunset cruises and marine life photography tours. Captains with over 30 years' experience on these waters position small vessels at sea level, bringing passengers eye-level with breaching humpbacks and feeding wildlife. Children five and up are welcome, along with healthy pregnant visitors and those with physical limitations. The company offers personalized ash-scattering ceremonies. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
