About Sanctuary Cruises

Sanctuary Cruises operates small-group whale-watching tours from Moss Landing on Monterey Bay using three vessels: the 43-foot Sanctuary for families, the six-person Ocean Spirit RHIB for photographers, and the 50-foot Meridian yacht for private charters. Every trip carries a working marine biologist who guides visitors through sightings of humpback whales, dolphins, sea lions, sea otters, and seabirds. Captains with over 30 years of experience on Monterey Bay navigate passengers to wildlife encounters on tours lasting from 2.5 to 9 hours. The boats feature sea-level viewing decks that put visitors eye-level with breaching whales and offer heated cabins for comfort. The operator guarantees great views: if visitors don't see whales or dolphins, they receive a free return trip. Sanctuary Cruises welcomes children ages 5 and up, with a reduced rate available for children ages 12 and under. Tickets are sold online on the venue's website.
