About Blakemore Planetarium

The Marian West and William Blanton Blakemore Planetarium in Midland offers immersive experiences in the Helen Greathouse Educational Discovery Dome, where visitors explore the universe through star talks and dome shows presented on a 360-degree state-of-the-art Digistar 7 system. The planetarium also features Coterra Science on a Sphere, an interactive exhibit that teaches visitors about the solar system, Earth, and phenomena like sea turtle migration patterns. Sci-Fridays programs on the final Friday nights of each month bring films to the dome, giving families an evening activity option. The dome space accommodates both general admission visitors and private events.
