The Heritage Museum of Big Spring preserves the cultural heritage and history of Big Spring and Howard County through permanent collections and rotating exhibits. Visitors explore the Texas Longhorn exhibit, the West Texas Oil and Refinery Industry exhibit, the T&P Railroad exhibit, and the Pioneer Medical exhibit, along with many others. The museum features Imagination Station for interactive engagement. A temporary gallery space showcases local and distinguished artists, culturally diverse subject matter, significant historical events, community fundraising projects, and local arts and crafts from area schools and organizations. The museum hosts educational lecture series, book signings, and community events throughout the year. Since its charter in 1971, the museum has served approximately 6,000 guests annually, drawing visitors from all fifty states and internationally. The museum is located in Big Spring, Texas, and functions as a nonprofit institution dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and preserving artifacts that reflect the region's unique character and past.
