About Anderson Hancock Planetarium

Anderson Hancock Planetarium at Marietta College offers visitors an immersive experience of the night sky and cosmos. The planetarium is a theater where audiences sit surrounded by an accurate 360-degree image of the heavens, experiencing celestial events through multi-media presentations that combine slides, video, visual effects, computer animations, narration, and music. The facility uses a hybrid projection system featuring both an optical-mechanical star projector and a full-dome digital video projector, allowing visitors to view the night sky from thousands of years in the past or future from countless vantage points throughout the universe. The theater accommodates 102 people in theater-style seating and is handicapped accessible. Monthly public programs are offered to community members and visitors. The planetarium's lobby features quiet study areas and displays of current NASA science programming, open during weekday business hours. Located at the corner of Fourth and Butler streets in Marietta, the facility adjoins the Rickey Science Center.
