Albany's Indoor Rockgym, located near Central Avenue at Westgate Plaza, is an indoor climbing facility where visitors climb on hand-sculpted walls using top-roping, bouldering, and lead climbing techniques. The gym features floor-to-ceiling cracks, trackable top-ropes for ceiling climbs, and lead routes across the entire ceiling length to challenge climbers of all levels. The facility also includes a mock indoor cave system with a glass slide, cargo net, and crystal mirror rooms. Visitors can ride a 60-foot indoor zipline as part of the cave experience. The gym offers climbing programs and classes for both adults and children, including a Youth Climbing Club that meets Tuesday evenings. Children under ten must be accompanied by a parent or adult in a one-to-one ratio while climbing or exploring the caves. Equipment rental is available, and the gym has operated since 1994.
