About Adventure Island at The Centre of Elgin
Adventure Island at The Centre of Elgin in Elgin, Illinois features three pools designed for different swimming needs. The recreation pool includes a zero-depth entry, geysers, whirling water, a shipwrecked boat slide, tipping toucans that shower water, and a 25-foot water slide with a separate plunge pool. Serious swimmers use the eight-lane, 25-yard competition pool with depths from five to twelve feet, equipped with two one-meter diving boards and a three-meter board. A therapy pool serves rehabilitation therapy, special recreation programming, senior water exercise, and warm-up sessions before competitions. The facility offers swim lessons throughout the week and hosts open swim sessions with varying schedules by season. Visitors range from young children enjoying the recreation pool's interactive features to competitive swimmers training in the lap pool.
