Wing Haven in Charlotte comprises three interconnected public gardens where visitors walk garden paths to observe birds, wildlife, and plants. The Wing Haven Garden & Bird Sanctuary showcases Southern horticulture and serves as a habitat for local birds and wildlife. The Elizabeth Lawrence House & Garden, created by the internationally celebrated garden writer, features plants with something in bloom throughout the year and functions as a living laboratory for horticultural study. Adjacent to these properties, the SEED Wildlife & Children's Garden provides hands-on exploration and learning for children of all ages in a natural habitat setting. Visitors typically spend around two hours on self-guided tours, checking in at the historic 1920s Clarkson House before proceeding through the gardens. Wing Haven also hosts more than forty programs and special events annually. Located in Charlotte's Myers Park neighborhood between Selwyn Avenue and Westfield Road, the gardens provide an escape from urban surroundings and connect visitors with Charlotte's horticultural history.
