About Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster
Wilderness Run Alpine Coaster operates North Carolina's first alpine coaster, a 3,160-foot track with three circular loops, waves, and twists where riders control their sled up to 27 mph. The family-owned venue also runs the Wilderness Run Adventure Course, a self-guided multi-level obstacle course with 28 challenges through the treetops. Minimum riders must be 3 years old and 38 inches tall; solo riders need to be 54 inches tall and at least 11 years old. The coaster operates daily from 10 am to 8 pm most days, with extended evening hours on weekends, and remains open during rain and snow. A registered check-in time guarantees your spot; walk-ins are welcome if capacity allows. Admission tickets are purchased on site and remain valid for two weeks; bundle options offer three consecutive rides. Military and first responder discounts of $2 off are available with valid ID.
