About Sugar Mountain Resort

Sugar Mountain Resort is a ski area in Sugar Mountain, North Carolina, where visitors ride chairlifts, ski slopes, and enjoy seasonal activities. The Summit Express chairlift carries guests to the mountain's peak for scenic views and fall foliage. The resort operates lift and slope ticket sessions throughout the day, including full-day, half-day, twilight, and night skiing options. An RFID chip-based ticketing system lets skiers reload their reusable cards online. The Ski and Snowboard School offers instruction. The resort hosts Oktoberfest with live Bavarian music, German and American food, a children's fun center, hayrides, and craft vendors. Snowshoe guided tours and NASTAR racing events run during winter months. Nearby, the Village of Sugar Mountain operates an 18-hole executive golf course and six tennis courts open to the public. Well-behaved leashed pets are welcome on resort grounds, though not on decks, in the lodge, or on chairlifts.
