Appalachian Ski Mountain in Blowing Rock is a ski area where visitors ski and snowboard on slopes maintained with fresh conditions throughout the season. The mountain uses snowmaking to create a deep snow base, and all slopes are typically groomed daily with a corduroy-like surface. The French-Swiss Ski College operates at the mountain, offering group and private lessons for newcomers learning to ski or snowboard, as well as coaching for intermediate skiers and snowboarders seeking to improve their skills. The mountain operates evening and night sessions, including Midnight Blast sessions on select nights. Visitors can choose from several ticket options: the 8 Hour Flex ticket allows skiers to start any time between 9am and 5pm and ski for up to eight consecutive hours, while the Super Session ticket covers 9am to 10pm or midnight. Night sessions run from 5pm to 10pm, and a Half-Night Session option is available from 8:30pm to midnight. Tickets are sold online through the venue's website.
