Tweetsie Railroad is a Wild West theme park in Blowing Rock where visitors ride a historic steam locomotive, watch live entertainment shows, and enjoy classic amusement rides. The park centers on a working steam locomotive that takes guests on scenic train rides through the property. At Miners Mountain, families can explore Deer Park Zoo, home to European fallow deer, goats, llamas, miniature horses, donkeys, emus, and sheep. Animal feed is available for purchase so visitors can hand-feed the animals. Beyond the zoo, the park offers gold panning and gem mining, where visitors can search for natural gemstones in purchased buckets of ore. Arcade games including air hockey and vintage video games occupy the Country Fair area. A renovated playground allows children to climb and run while parents rest. The park also features shopping for Western-themed merchandise and custom wooden signs. Tweetsie Railroad operates Saturdays and Sundays with hours published on the venue's website. Special seasonal events include Ghost Train in fall and Tweetsie Christmas in winter.
