About Westminster Museum

The Westminster Museum preserves and displays local artifacts and records at Blakey Historical Park in Westminster, California. Visitors explore the museum's collections while taking in the park grounds, which feature a 175-year-old sycamore tree and a 1904 windmill. The Shutter Shak, an original 1976 example of California Crazy roadside architecture, houses a vintage camera collection including Realorama 35mm slide viewers and other photographic equipment from past decades. The museum and park host hundreds of students annually studying local history, and youth and senior groups can arrange guided tours. Special open house events celebrate Westminster's heritage, featuring displays about model railroading history, toy collections spanning generations, live music performances, and refreshments. Visitors walk the grounds to learn about Westminster's railroad history and community past. The park opens to the public on the first Sunday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m.
