About Wavehuggers

Wavehuggers is a surf instruction company operating in Southern California, including the Oceanside area, where visitors learn to surf from CPR and First Aid certified instructors. The organization offers one-on-one private surf lessons, group lessons, community classes, and video lessons tailored to every skill level. Summer camps for ages five through fourteen run Monday through Friday with half-day sessions from eight in the morning to noon and full-day sessions from eight in the morning to four-thirty in the afternoon. Summer camps feature an industry-leading three-to-one instructor-to-student ratio, in-water surf coaching, and all necessary equipment including surfboards and wetsuits. Wavehuggers also provides after-school and spring break camps. Beyond instruction, the organization hosts group events including bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate events, and beach clean-ups. Surf therapy through the Groundswell Community Project focuses on self-love and community connection. All gear is included with lessons and camp sessions.
