The Toledo Police Museum offers visitors an interactive journey through the history of the Toledo Police Department. Located in the former Ottawa Park Nature Center, the museum opened in 2011 after volunteers spent countless hours restoring a collection that had been in storage for nearly seventeen years. Visitors can explore permanent exhibits and rotating displays highlighting different sections of the department and officers who served the community. Interactive activities include getting locked in a jail cell, having a mug shot taken with the original TPD camera, and viewing the interior of a replica 1948 police wagon. The museum features a timeline documenting the department's complete history from its beginnings to the present day. Set within beautiful Ottawa Park with mature trees and ample parking, the museum sits near the Toledo Police Department's Ottawa Park Substation, offering a calm setting for exploring policing heritage.
