About The Saratoga Springs History Museum
The Saratoga Springs History Museum presents changing exhibitions and public programs across three floors of the Canfield Casino, a National Historic Landmark built in the 1870s. Visitors explore displays documenting the city's social, political, economic, geological, and cultural history through artifacts and a photographic archive spanning some 325,000 images. The museum hosts walking tours through historic Congress Park that conclude with guided visits to the elegant Canfield Casino and museum admission. Special programs include paranormal investigation events and lectures on historical periods and figures that shaped Saratoga Springs and the nation. The museum cares for 16,000 artifacts collected from throughout northern New York. Founded in 1883 as the Saratoga Historical Society, it was among the earliest organizations of its type. The museum serves tens of thousands of visitors annually in Saratoga Springs, New York, with hours and ticket information available on its website.
