About The Pad Climbing - Santa Barbara

The Pad Climbing in Goleta is an indoor climbing gym where visitors climb on shorter walls without ropes, a discipline called bouldering. The facility features padded flooring to reduce impact and three types of climbing: bouldering on colorful plastic rock walls, top roping with autobelays or a belay partner, and lead climbing where climbers secure the rope as they ascend. The gym offers free rental climbing shoes in sizes from toddler to 15. Additional rentals include chalk bags and harnesses in various sizes and styles for those who need them. The Pad provides climbing instruction classes for visitors interested in top roping and lead climbing. Early childhood programs and youth camps are available for younger climbers. The gym welcomes first-time climbers with no prior experience, exceptional fitness, or special knowledge required. Staff members are selected to assist visitors but respect those who prefer to climb independently. The facility serves families, individuals, and groups in Goleta, California.
