About The Holocaust Museum

The Holocaust Museum is an educational institution housing student-created exhibits and artwork about Holocaust history. Visitors view scale models of buildings and architectural structures, oil paintings, acrylics, pastel chalk drawings, pen and ink work, archival clothing items, and modeling clay pieces. The museum features video testimonies from Holocaust survivors, including Sarah Meller's account of her family's experiences and Ronnie Breslow's story of boarding the S.S. St. Louis to America. The collection originated from a school-wide project involving kindergarten through twelfth-grade students who each completed four-component assignments: personal research, written papers, oral presentations, and individual art projects on subjects, events, or persons from the Holocaust. Contributors including Alex Guerrero Jr., William Price, and Terrance Hansley dedicated extensive time to constructing museum pieces. The museum serves visitors interested in Holocaust history and education in Forest City, North Carolina.
