KidSenses Children's Interactive Museum in downtown Rutherfordton is a hands-on facility where visitors explore 14 different interactive exhibit areas designed for creative play and learning. The museum occupies an 11,000 square-foot space in a 1927 building that once served as a car dealership and Five and Dime store. For children ages infancy through ten, the main museum features learning exhibits and interactive displays throughout its galleries. The attached Children's Garden, spanning 7,500 square feet and open seasonally, provides outdoor exploration space. The museum also offers curriculum-based workshops for school field trip groups. An adjacent expansion called The Factory caters to ages eleven and up, housing a Maker Space, Robotics Lab, and 3-D Print Shop where older visitors can design and build projects. The museum provides opportunities for children to engage their curiosity while developing knowledge and skills across multiple learning areas.
