About The Hemingway Home and Museum

The Hemingway Home and Museum in Key West preserves the house and life of Nobel Prize-winning author Ernest Hemingway. Visitors take guided tours starting every 15 minutes, exploring rooms including the living room with its display of Hemingway's fishing boat, the Pilar, and photographs documenting his fishing adventures. The museum operates daily with walk-in visits available. The grounds feature descendants of Snow White, a white six-toed cat given to Hemingway by a ship's captain; some of the cats living on the museum grounds are related to that original cat. A museum shop stocks mementos connected to Hemingway's life and the tropical setting that attracted him and other writers and artists to Key West. The Writing Experience offers classes for those interested in Hemingway's literary legacy. Admission is charged at published rates, with free entry for children five and younger.
