The Farm in Salinas is an agricultural education center and working farm just outside Salinas, California. Visitors participate in farm tours, special family activities, and browse fresh organic produce for sale at the farm store. The demonstration farm, certified organic through the California Certified Organic Farmers organization, grows approximately thirty different crops including strawberries, lettuces, corn, pumpkins, and tomatoes. The farm also operates a bakery producing various pie varieties available in the farmshop. The flower program features organic dahlias, zinnias, strawflowers, ranunculus, and snapdragons, with freshly picked bouquets available most days. Visitors can participate in scheduled flower u-picks throughout summer and fall, typically on Saturdays. Private flower tours for small groups include field walks with the flower farmer, discussion of growing practices and varieties, flower picking, and sometimes a tractor hayride. Organic flowers are also available for bulk orders and special arrangement orders. During growing season, the farm conducts a Community Supported Agriculture subscription program.
