The Chicken Farm Art Center in San Angelo occupies the restored buildings of a 1940s chicken farm, now home to working artist studios and creative spaces. The center offers classes taught by resident artists in various media and skill levels for different ages. The Silo House Restaurant, housed in a converted grain silo building, serves a five-course prefixe menu Thursday through Saturday evenings and Saturday brunch. Founded in 1971 by former art teacher Roger Allen and partners, the space has launched the careers of many established artists and continues to nurture creative practice through its communal artist incubator model.
