About The Alamo

The Alamo in San Antonio is a historic site where visitors explore three centuries of Texas history through guided tours, self-guided audio experiences, and exhibits. The iconic Alamo Church sits at the heart of the site, and guests walk the grounds where the 1836 Battle of the Alamo took place. The Ralston Family Collections Center houses the Alamo Exhibit, displaying over 500 artifacts including the Phil Collins Collection and the Donald and Louise Yena Spanish Colonial Collection. Visitors encounter bronze statues along a sculpture trail, view a full-size replica of an 18-pounder cannon, and experience augmented reality features. The Young Texans Tour engages children with hands-on activities like musket drills and a muster ceremony. Living history demonstrations show daily life in the 1830s. General admission to the Alamo Church is free, though reservations are required. Tickets for guided tours and exhibits are sold online on the venue's site.
