Tarpon Springs Aquarium and Animal Sanctuary

About Tarpon Springs Aquarium and Animal Sanctuary

Tarpon Springs Aquarium and Animal Sanctuary features hand-feeding demonstrations in its Alligator Show, where visitors watch a handler feed a large gator before petting and holding a smaller one. The facility also hosts a SCUBA Diver Show in either the shark tank or big fish tank, and an Up Close Reptile Encounters program where guests hold pythons and baby alligators after meeting snakes, lizards, and tortoises. Visitors can feed sharks, tarpon, stingrays, and goats; pet stingrays and sharks in touch tanks; and explore exhibits of native Florida wildlife alongside rescued animals recovering from previous situations. The sanctuary operates daily and runs educational programs including Trainer-for-a-Day experiences, Junior Trainer-for-a-Day, homeschool classes, and Toddler Tuesdays. Located in Tarpon Springs, the family-owned venue has operated since 1990. Children aged 2 and under receive free admission. Single day passes purchased online receive 15% off, and active military and police or fire personnel with valid ID receive 25% off for their group. Details appear on tarponspringsaquarium.com.
