About Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard
Stepp's Hillcrest Orchard is a fourth-generation working farm and pick-your-own orchard spanning 100 acres on the crest of the Blue Ridge Mountains near Hendersonville. Visitors pick their own apples from 40 acres of orchard with 26 varieties, along with pumpkins, grapes, sunflowers, zinnias, and tulips depending on season. The farm provides containers in three sizes and marks ripening rows with signs guiding pickers to ready fruit. Weekend family activities include a 5-acre corn maze, an apple cannon, a jump pad, and wagon rides. Dogs on leashes are welcome throughout the orchards. The covered picnic area beside the orchard accommodates families bringing their own food. Educational school tours run Monday through Thursday. The farm operates seasonally with hours published on its website. Visitors pay only for what they pick, buy, or do at this Hendersonville location near Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
