About Solvang Vintage Motorcycle Museum
Solvang Vintage Motorcycle Museum houses over one hundred vintage and rare motorcycles, including racing bikes spanning from a 1910 FN to modern machines, with emphasis on racing models from makers including AJS, BMW, Ducati, Gilera, Matchless, Moto Guzzi, Norton, Triumph, Velocette and Vincent. The collection comes from two decades of gathering by Virgil Elings, who raced vintage motorcycles with his son. Visitors examine notable machines like the 1995 Britten V1000, one of only ten ever built, and the 1929 AJS R10 with its overhead cam engine. The museum rotates bikes monthly, so displays constantly change. No ropes or barriers separate visitors from the motorcycles, allowing close inspection. Located in Solvang Village Square in the former Brooks Brothers store in a former outlet center, the museum is a day trip from Los Angeles through the Santa Ynez Valley. Children 10 and under enter free with a guardian. Admission charges apply for all others, with prices published online.
