About Red Oak Nature Center

Red Oak Nature Center, located on the east bank of the Fox River in North Aurora, offers hands-on indoor activities and outdoor exploration across more than 40 acres of forest and wildlife habitat. Visitors encounter the Wildlife Room, which features a 500-gallon turtle and fish setting along with habitats for frogs, snakes and salamanders. The Sense the Seasons Exhibits provide educational displays about seasonal cycles and natural wonders. Outdoor trails wind through the property, and snowshoe rentals are available during snowy months for visitors ages 8 and older. The center hosts summer camps, school field trips and scout group outings. Special events throughout the year include Frosty Fest, Maple Fest and Rusty Rodeo. Birthday parties and room rentals are available. General admission is free, and the facility welcomes families, school groups and individuals seeking nature education and outdoor discovery.
