About Point Lobos State Natural Reserve
Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, located three miles south of Carmel-By-The-Sea on Highway 1, features headlands, coves, rolling meadows, and an offshore area recognized as one of the richest underwater habitats in the world. Day-use visitors explore the reserve's coastal landscape during operating hours. The park hosts habitat restoration volunteer days, BioBlitz events for California Biodiversity Week, and Underwater BioBlitz programs that engage visitors in ecological observation and conservation work.
