About Museum of Troy History
The Museum of Troy History occupies an 1847 brick home in Troy, Ohio, and documents how local residents lived from 1850 to the present. Visitors tour rooms decorated with period furnishings that show everyday life before indoor plumbing, electric appliances, and telephones. The parlor, foyer, and bedroom display Victorian-era décor from 1860 to 1900, while the kitchen depicts domestic life as it was in 1925. A second-floor schoolroom from 1850 to 1950 features inkwells and slate backboards. Exhibits also showcase Troy's past businesses and industries through photographs and artifacts. The museum holds a collection of Troy High School yearbooks, allowing visitors to search for students and reconnect with local history across the decades. Groups may arrange appointments for tours.
